I’m a nail polish fiend, and I love nail art just as much. Sometimes I just get so lazy to get myself to do any sometimes. So my go-to lately has been this indie nail polish called “I’m an Artist” made by Laura aka “Brummingbird” on Instagram. It’s a black and white glitter in a clear base similar to Lynderella’s “Connect the Dots” but with smaller hex glitters and various square mini hex shapes as well as line glitters. I love how this adds an instant pop on any nail color and makes it seem like you put more effort into your manicure when really you just swiped on a couple of coats of this badboy and done!
I nicked the edge of my pointer finger, so ignore that haha. But this is so lovely, it’s really cool and unique–it reminds me of splatter paint.
Here I paired it with Sally Hansen “Lacey Lilac.”
How would you guys wear this top coat? It’s so wonderful I can’t get over it.
I hope you guys aren’t tired of hearing about IMATS! Because I know I’m not. I feel like since last week, I’ve been so inspired and just enamored by everyone’s beauty and passion for makeup, it has really sunk in that the makeup industry is somewhere I want to be a part of one day. It sounds so superficial to some people, but really, it’s about the confidence and the added spunk that these tools we use can add to us which can easily brighten up anyone’s day, including our own! From the funky, bright colors to the drama and darkness, the possibilities are endless! Not to mention the special effects.
Anyway, moving on. Our long awaited haul! This was so exciting, we filmed it as soon as we got back to our hotel room because we wanted to play with our new goodies ^_^ Hope you all enjoy!
We got everything we wanted, plus more!
If you went to IMATS and have some awesome goodies you’d like to share with us, or even would like to hear/see a review of the things we’ve gotten, please let us know!
Hey lovelies! It’s Alyssa here to share with you guys how awesome IMATS was. If you guys don’t know what IMATS is, it stands for “International Makeup Artist Trade Show” where lots and lots of vendors, makeup artists, makeup fanatics, and enthusiasts like myself basically get together and check out the new makeup products that will be coming out, see how to apply makeup, and just see awesome and amazing/talented people.
We spent this whole past weekend in Los Angeles, which was just too much fun! Here’s a video on some footage and photos we took at IMATS as well as a sneak peak to the haul we are going to post soon as well.
Does everybody have their St. Patty’s Day mani ready? If not, I have a solution for a quick, easy, and very affordable way to get it done! Now, I’m sure most of us are familiar with the new nail trend of “flakies” or flake glitters. These bad boys are iridescent oddly cut glitters that add kind of a stained glass and holographic or rather three-dimensional look to the nails without the mess. I just recently discovered this brand called Sinful Colors sold at Walgreens at $1.99 per bottle, and one day while perusing the large selection of nail polishes, I stumbled upon this baby! Sinful Colors Green Ocean. Now, what a beaut!
Green Ocean is a green jelly based nail polish with round iridescent blue glitters and flakies that reflect a green and yellow tint.
I really wanted to capture it the best way possibly so you guys can see just how gorgeous this nail polish is. I nearly drooled while staring at this in person while in the store! You can see the shine of blue when the light hits it, it’s awesome!
Being this was the first time I tried anything from this brand, I was reluctant. Buy you know that saying: you’ll never know unless you try? I tried it! And better yet I caught it while it was on a deal when all sinful colors were only $.99! Woo!
Valentine’s day, as we age, the simplistic day becomes more commercialized to loving couples (nothing wrong with that). But remember as kids in grammar school how excited we all got! Buying cute cards and candy for the whole class and making paper heart valentines by hand. Truly hand-making almost each valentine. Also everyone got one, what was not to love about that. Now that we are older you lose that innocence with a valentine and it has gotten more intimate. Why not bring back those memories and give out valentines to your friends! So here is a very simple treat bag to hand out to your loveable friends, cause that is what Valentines day is about, a little sugar for those you consider close to your heart.
Things I used:
– pink paper bags
– glitter glue pens
– assorted scrapbooking items
– my selection of candy
I decided every bag would look different and personalize each one 🙂 So feel free to go crazy with the decorations! Also my choice in candies were purely selfish (hey I am always down for some candy). Very simple idea , just decorate to your liking add candy and close with ribbon on top. I made 7 Valentine Treat Bags for around 30! The bulk was the candy. The bags and glitter pens and stickers I bought at target for around a dollar each item. If this is a belated Valentines present I expect the candy to be loads cheaper (day after). I should show you more of the end result, I think they capture the hand made aspect quite well!
Enjoy making it! I am positive it will bring joy to your friends 🙂
