Hey guys, I know we have been absent these past few months, this semester has really taken our time! But no fear it is over in a few weeks. But right here at the end of it is my Birthday!!! Strange to think I will be turning 23. I received a present from my mom already and I am in love with it! She bought me a new Michael Kors watch!! I am excited to see what everyone else has up their sleeve this week and know that just being around great friends is enough :). I edited the picture of the watch so the hearts aren’t included guys. But it is the Michael Kors Lexington watch and I could not be happier.
Isn’t it lovely?! You guys have a good week cause I know I am!
It’s finally beginning to get cooler in Southern California and I can’t express how excited I am to start layering and bringing out my comfy jackets! As much as I love Summer and it’s weather and cold treats, I can’t wait to cozy up in front of a fireplace bundled up in a jacket sippin’ on some hot cocoa. Just sayin’! Anyhow, these are my essentials that I notice I tend to lean more towards when coming up with an outfit idea.
1. The Statement Jacket: Everyone needs some sort of rendition of the leather jacket, which I think translates to a statement piece. For one, it keeps you warm, and two, you look fashionable without much effort wearing it!
2. Fall Headwear: Let’s face it, our noggins need some love too so the perfect way to keep that head of yours warm is by using some awesome headwear! Think turbans, beanies, wraps, you name it. I like to think of these as a bad hair day life saver, and because I really don’t like walking around with wind blowing through my hair messing it up even more, I just add one of these and I’m good to go.
3. The Combat Boot: One Word: AMAZING! I’ve coveted combat boots for ages and finally took the plunge and invested in a pair I knew I’d love forever. And since then, my world has changed. I love combat boots. They’re comfortable, edgy, and straight up bad-ass! These are definitely something you can even wear through all the seasons.
I am obsessed. I have been stalking this website for quite some time and finally took the plunge and made a few purchases! Through the Shop Lately website, they have certain boutiques that cater to different tastes and types of accessories you’re interested in. The one I found that I am completely head over heels for is Glint & Gleam, an affordable very trendy boutique that has tons of styles of jewelry that cater to many likings.
I was first intrigued by their pieces from seeing people like Amy from Vagabond Youth and Sarah from Sarah Hawkinson show their pick ups from the site as well as different stylings with them.
I placed two orders on separate occassions and got them two days after I placed the order–which is amazing! Don’t you just love when your packages ship quickly?
Anyhow, here is a video of the things I picked up:
And here are some detailed shots of the pieces as well:
I am such a sucker for cute packaging as well as good quality and Glint & Gleam does just that: delivers great quality items in cute packaging–AND did I mention they’re affordable?! Two thumbs up!
What do you guys think? Is this something you guys are interested in? Did you see anything you liked from my haul or their site? Please share!
Have you guys heard of Shoemint yet? From the umbrella company Beachmint, Shoemint is shoes from the collaboration of Rachel Bilson and Nichole Chavez! Now I’ve been stalking their site since they released, but I finally took the plunge and purchased a pair! I was lusting of Edith, but unfortunately missed out on that pair. So I saw the Molly and knew I could not hesitate again! I received the shoes a few days after ordering. Wait I forgot to mention one of the best parts! I used a promo code so it was discounted by 20%! It literally made the fight about ordering it way easier! I made a little collage for you guys. I did not notice till now that the bottom right is a bit blurry (sorry folks)! So far I have not gotten to wear them out, just putting them on in my room for now. But do as the website says and order half a size up! It does run a half size small so I am glad I listen to directions well. I can tell you I saw some construction errors, it shows the glue on the heel. Which is no biggie cause other than looking for it, you can not see them. They seemed very comfy as well! Which is great because it has a 5 1/4 heel! I am sure they are they highest heels I own. Besides being in love with the style and color, I even adored the cute black box they came in. So far Shoemint has a B+ in my book! I will let you guys know how the overall wear goes with the shoe later on. How do you guys feel about the Shoemint brand?
