Shoe Indulgence: Shoemint Molly

Have you guys heard of Shoemint yet? From the umbrella company Beachmint, Shoemint is shoes from the collaboration of Rachel Bilson and Nichole Chavez! Now I’ve been stalking their site since they released, but I finally took the plunge and purchased a pair! I was lusting of Edith, but unfortunately missed out on that pair. So I saw the Molly and knew I could not hesitate again! I received the shoes a few days after ordering. Wait I forgot to mention one of the best parts! I used a promo code so it was discounted by 20%! It literally made the fight about ordering it way easier! I made a little collage for you guys. I did not notice till now that the bottom right is a bit blurry (sorry folks)! So far I have not gotten to wear them out, just putting them on in my room for now. But do as the website says and order half a size up! It does run a half size small so I am glad I listen to directions well. I can tell you I saw some construction errors, it shows the glue on the heel. Which is no biggie cause other than looking for it, you can not see them. They seemed very comfy as well! Which is great because it has a 5 1/4 heel! I am sure they are they highest heels I own. Besides being in love with the style and color, I even adored the cute black box they came in. So far Shoemint has a B+ in my book! I will let you guys know how the overall wear goes with the shoe later on. How do you guys feel about the Shoemint brand?

Drugstore Discovery: Revlon Photoready Cream Blushes

I love Revlon products, and they are hands down my favorite drugstore makeup brand because they offer so much in their range that are truly long lasting and have great pigmentation. I’ve had my eye on these babies for quite some time and had such a difficult time finding them. But lo and behold I went to an Ulta and found the last of each of the shades I wanted: Coral Reef and Flushed, they did have a natural shade but I felt like that wouldn’t show up well on my skin tone so I skipped that one.

Flushed and Coral Reef

Here’s my take on cream blushes, they don’t usually work well on me. I’ve had my share of some from brands like MAC and NYX but they would slip and slide and wouldn’t last on me. But I heard some amazing reviews on this and decided to give them a try. And I am so happy I did!

One word: WOW! When I first swatched these I noticed right away that although it was a cream product it had a very satin finish which makes blending out the color really easy and allows layering the color to be flawless. These swatches are of course with nothing underneath it, and you can already tell how amazingly pigmented these are!

What is great about cream products is that they are versatile, as a makeup artist you have to think outside of the box especially when it comes to your kit and what products to throw in their on a job. Now I haven’t tried this but I can imagine it would work. Cream blushes would work well as a lip color, just as lip color would be a great alternative to cream blush. Now don’t call me crazy until you try it, but I can tell that if you just use a lip brush and layer this on your lips it’ll create a beautiful color.

These do blend out easily, which I adore, and set nicely. It would be nice to use under a powder blush or even on it’s own. I haven’t experienced any slipping or sliding with these products with or without a powder blush on top which makes me extremely pleased!

I would definitely give these a go if you haven’t tried these yet. They are perfect for makeup beginners or pros because of the ability to layer to the desired color intensity you would like.

Let me know if you have tried these or wish to, or even what look you’d use with these babies. I’m not sure about the availability of these, whether or not they are limited edition, but I did recently find them at an Ulta and even saw them at a CVS near by.

Minty Lilac Gradient Nails

As you know, we are quite obsessed with the ombre/gradient trend. As much as I myself would love to ombre my hair, I can’t make the commitment! So the best way to rock the trend (for me anyway) is to do it on my nails.

Nail designs can last you up to a week, which is what I adore about nail art–you can switch it up to your liking as much as you’d like which makes the possibilities endless!

I recently had to cut and file down my nails because I was trying to open a cabinet at work–fail! Anyway, this mani was the first thing on my mind to do as soon as I got home and I’m in love! Especially with the color combination 🙂

To add a little pizzazz I used another Brummingbird creation called “Sweet” which is a flakie duochrome of blue, green, and purple mini flecks! Here are a few detail shots that decently capture the amazingness this baby beholds…

The flakie is subtle, but that’s what I love about it–it adds dimension and shines beautifully in the sunlight!

Here is a shot of the nail polishes I used to create this look:

How are you guys rocking the ombre/gradient trend?

Dreams do Come True! OCC x Nylon x Sephora

Where do I begin? I absolutely adore OCC Makeup, for their amazing pigmentation in their lip tars all the way to their pigments, nailpolishes, and foundations. No doubt is their lip tar a cult favorite of sorts–I mean what else do you think when someone says OCC? Next up, Nylon Magazine… I’ve been a long time fan of this magazine because it’s so unique compared to say Seventeen or Cosmo (not hatin’) and it’s simple yet caters to an edgier or dare I say “hipster” crowd. I’ve always spotted Nylon in racks of magazines because of their bold pink NYLON logo which is what attracted me to the mag in the first place and then my love affair grew. Lastly, Sephora! What else can you say about Sephora? It’s the infamous one-stop-(higherend)makeup-shop with so many goodies to have googley eyes over. So this fall, OCC has teamed up with Sephora to start selling their lip tars to exclusive stores nationwide as well as online.

The best part about this launch is that OCC and Nylon teamed up to bring an exclusive/limited edition lip tar shade to match the bright neon pink of their logo–of course named what other than “NYLON” to be launched on the Sephora website only!

Who else is a sucker for exclusive stuffies? I know I can’t be the only one. This is no exception. Hot pink, OCC, Nylon, Sephora?! Done deal. I know I’ll be stalking the site come that day! Who’s with me? I’m also curious to how it will compare to MAC’s Candy Yum Yum.
